Amends the Good Samaritan Act. Provides that any person, including health care practitioners, who in good faith provides services as a disaster relief volunteer shall not be liable to any person to whom disaster relief services were rendered for any acts or omissions, except willful and wanton misconduct in providing disaster relief services. Defines disaster relief volunteer.

| AN ACT concerning civil law.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by adding | 5 |
| Section 68 as follows: | 6 |
| (745 ILCS 49/68 new) | 7 |
| Sec. 68. Disaster Relief Volunteers. Any person, including | 8 |
| health care practitioners such as physicians, dentists, | 9 |
| podiatrists, optometrists, pharmacists, advanced practice | 10 |
| nurses, physician assistants and nurses who in good faith, | 11 |
| provides services as a disaster relief volunteer shall not, as | 12 |
| a result of his or her acts or omissions, except willful and | 13 |
| wanton misconduct on the part of the person, in providing | 14 |
| services, be liable to a person to whom such services are | 15 |
| provided for civil damages. | 16 |
| A disaster relief volunteer is a person who volunteers to | 17 |
| provide services in relief of a disaster, including but not | 18 |
| limited to an earthquake, hurricane, tornado, nuclear attack, | 19 |
| terrorist attack, epidemic, pandemic, or other catastrophe | 20 |
| without fee or compensation for providing the volunteer | 21 |
| services.
