SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Wireless Telephone Services Act. Provides that all wireless service providers must offer a service plan that does not require a time-frame commitment.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Wireless Telephone Services Act.

Section 5. Definitions. For purposes of this Act:

"Service plan" means a contract between a wireless service provider and a customer for wireless service under certain terms and conditions.

"Time-frame commitment" means a commitment to a specified duration of service.

"Wireless service provider" means a company that provides wireless telephone service to customers.

Section 10. Wireless telephone service without a time-frame commitment. All wireless service providers must offer a service plan that does not require a time-frame commitment.
