HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Cynthia Ann Kelly of New York City, New York, who passed away on June 22, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly was born on August 29, 1935 in New York City, New York; her parents were Wilmot and Anna Mitchell; she spent her entire life in New York City; and

WHEREAS, Soon after graduating from high school, Cynthia Ann Kelly married Jesse Kelly; together, they had two children, Glenn and Robin; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly worked at a variety of positions until she became employed with the United States Post Office, where she remained until her retirement in 1999; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly devoted much of her time and energy to working with children; she was an active member of the Experience Corps; she worked with young children from P.S. 277, helping them to improve their reading skills, an experience that she enjoyed immensely; and

WHEREAS, In honor of Cynthia Ann Kelly's dedication to the education of children, a fund will be set up in her name to help the Experience Corps buy books for the children; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly enjoyed reading, baseball, board games, playing slot machines, traveling to Illinois to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren, and traveling with her children on trips to Florida, Las Vegas, Europe, and Alaska; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marilyn and Wilma Mitchell; her brother, Wilmot Mitchell; and her niece, Robin Mitchell; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly is survived by her son, Glenn Kelly; her daughter, Robin Kelly (Nathaniel); her grandchildren, Kelly and Ryan Hamilton; her sisters, Carol Carman and Gloria Mitchell; her nieces and nephews, Elise Carman Farmer (Rob), Christopher Carman (Yvette), and Jason Carman; her sister-in-law, Eva Mitchell; her best friend, Shirley Pugh; and a host of other friends and associates; and

WHEREAS, Cynthia Ann Kelly will be remembered by all who knew and loved her as a vibrant and lovely woman who enjoyed a good debate on any topic; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Cynthia Ann Kelly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Cynthia Ann Kelly as an expression of our sympathy.
