HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Founder and former Executive Director of Carepoint Adult, Child and Family Association, Vince L. Gillon, who passed away on March 17, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Gillon was well known for his self-determination and ability to overcome many obstacles presented to him throughout his life; he was a leader in the Evanston and Roger's Park communities where he campaigned and provided services to communities in need; his departure will positively affect these communities for years to come; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Lawrence Gillon was born in Chicago, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Gillon was well known as a soft-spoken and humble person; he remained a dedicated constituent, continuing to campaign and pass out literature to his community in order to keep people informed of the happenings in the community so that he, along with many others, could be responsible for making positive changes in the community; and

WHEREAS, Vincent Gillon is survived by his wife, Charisse Ross-Gillon; his children, Parris Blake, Simone Gillon, Victoria Gillon, and Aliya Gillon; and his stepchildren, Ashley and Tierra Ross; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, community leader Vincent Gillon; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Vincent Gillon as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
