HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Steven S. Wilder, Chief of the Bradley Fire Department, on his retirement on April 30, 2008, after serving for 31 years; and

WHEREAS, He began his career with the Bradley Fire Department on March 14, 1977 at 18 years of age; and

WHEREAS, He received his EMT-B in 1977, his EMT-I in 1982, and his paramedic license in 1984; and

WHEREAS, He rose through the ranks of the Bradley Fire Department, receiving a rank as Engineer in 1984, Lieutenant in 1987, Captain in 1991, Deputy Chief in 1998, and Chief in 2001; and

WHEREAS, He has received many certifications throughout the years for his hard work and devotion to the people of Bradley; and

WHEREAS, He was honored to work with his family over the years, including his father-in-law, Chief Albert Wingo, whom he served with during his first years with the Department; his son, Ryan (Bull) Wilder, who joined the Department in 1999; his son, Daniel Wilder, who joined the Department in 2001; and his daughter-in-law, Tara (Downs) Wilder, who joined the Department in 2002; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Steven Wilder on his retirement and wish him the best as he enjoys time with his wife, Debbie, his grandson, Owen, and his children, Megan, Ryan, and Daniel; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Steven Wilder as a symbol of our sincere respect.
