HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate G. Lawrence Daghe
4 on the occasion of his retirement as Regional Superintendent of
5 Schools for DeWitt, Livingston, and McLean Counties; and
 
6     WHEREAS, G. Lawrence Daghe graduated from Western Illinois
7 University with a degree in education and a major in physical
8 education; he continued his studies at the University of
9 Illinois and later at Illinois State University, where he
10 completed his Master of Science degree in education and an
11 Administrative K-12 Superintendent's endorsement; and
 
12     WHEREAS, G. Lawrence Daghe has had a long and distinguished
13 career in education; he taught physical education and social
14 studies, served as athletic director, and coached numerous
15 sports at high schools in Easton, Minonk, and Wauconda; he also
16 served as department head and administrative assistant in
17 Wauconda and was later named principal of New Holland Middle
18 School; from 1976 until 2000, he served as assistant principal
19 at Parkside Junior High School, principal of Hudson Elementary,
20 and principal of Oakdale Elementary; in 1994, he moved to the
21 district office to become Assistant Superintendent of
22 Personnel and Operations; from 2001 until 2002, he served as
23 Interim Superintendent of the district; he was appointed

1 Interim Superintendent at Sterling District #5 from 2002 to
2 2003; and
 
3     WHEREAS, In November of 2002, G. Lawrence Daghe was elected
4 to serve as Regional Superintendent of Schools for DeWitt,
5 Livingston, and McLean Counties, a position he served in
6 faithfully until his retirement; and
 
7     WHEREAS, G. Lawrence Daghe has lived in the
8 Bloomington-Normal area for 30 years; he has been involved in
9 many community activities, civic organizations, and boards
10 during this time, including Compact, the United Way, Life Goes
11 On, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation; and
 
12     WHEREAS, G. Lawrence Daghe's dedication to his profession
13 and his willingness to serve his community make him a model for
14 the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17 congratulate G. Lawrence Daghe on the occasion of his
18 retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the
19 future; and be it further
 
20     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to G. Lawrence Daghe as a symbol of our esteem and
