HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Arielle Christopher of Streamwood, Little Miss Strawberry Princess Queen, on her success with the Good Deeds Toy Drive; and

WHEREAS, She is the nine-year old daughter of Cindy and Lee Christopher of Streamwood; she was crowned the first ever Little Miss Strawberry Princess Queen at the 26th annual Long Grove Strawberry Festival in June of 2008; and

WHEREAS, This was the first year for the beauty pageant; eleven titles were awarded in six age divisions ranging from 0-12 months up to 9 years old; and

WHEREAS, Her award included a custom-made Strawberry Queen crown, trophy, sash, and a Strawberry Shortcake gift bag; she is Streamwood's Miss Illinois Princess and a member of the Miss Illinois Scholarship Association Princess Mentoring program, part of the Miss America organization; and

WHEREAS, She has no official duties, but she is a Good Will Ambassador, she has made about 20 appearances since June, she has rode in about six parades, and has created a platform, "Promoting community spirit is a berry sweet thing to do!"; and

WHEREAS, Arielle created the Good Deeds Toy Drive to promote her platform, which went on for about a month; the drive brought attention to the needs of smaller pediatric hospitals outside of Chicago that needed toys for their pediatric patients; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Arielle Christopher and wish her continued success in everything she does in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Arielle Christopher as a symbol of our respect.
