HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Joseph Wolyn III of Gurnee on the occasion of his achievement of the coveted rank of Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Wolyn is a member of Boy Scout Troop 677; he began his scouting career at the age of 8 at the Cub Scout rank of Bear; during his tenure, he has served as Troop Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Patrol Leader, Assistant Quarter Master, and Troop Historian; he is currently a senior at Warren Township High School in Gurnee; and

WHEREAS, To earn the designation of Eagle Scout, Joseph Wolyn collected needed supplies for a non-profit pet shelter called Save-A-Pet; organizing fellow scouts and family members to pass out 1,000 fliers in four Gurnee neighborhoods and 1,500 fliers at St. Paul the Apostle Church in Gurnee, he managed to collect enough items to fill a one-car garage, including pet food, rubber gloves, paper towels, bleach, cat beds, and pet carriers, among many other items; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Wolyn's dedication to his community and country and his willingness to help those in need makes him a model for the citizens of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Joseph Wolyn III for his achievement of the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Joseph Wolyn III as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
