HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Central Catholic High School Saints Men's Cross Country Team for the 2008 Cross Country season, under the direction of Head Coach Tom Engelhorn and assistant coaches Seanan AlYasiri, Emily Dewald, and Melinda McNeil; and

WHEREAS, The Saints began their season by placing first at the Normal Invitational meet out of seven teams, and fifth in the Peoria Woodruff Invitational out of 34 teams; the Saints placed third out of six teams in the Intercity Meet, the best finish in the school's history; and

WHEREAS, In the St. Joseph-Ogden Spartan Classic, the Saints placed fourth out of 32 teams, once again setting a new school record; in the Jacksonville Invitational, the Saints emerged as champions, winning the entire invitational; and

WHEREAS, During the post season, the Saints won their second regional title; in the sectional meet, the Saints placed fourth, earning a second trip to the Illinois High School Association Class A State Championship Meet, where the Saints placed 14th overall; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Central Catholic Saints Men's Cross Country Team of 2008 on their outstanding season and wish them the best in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to members of the Central Catholic Saints Men's Cross Country team as a symbol of our respect and congratulations.
