| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Harry w. Jones Jr., | 4 |
| Senior Lobbyist of ComEd Legislative Strategies, on his | 5 |
| retirement on March 30, 2007; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Jones, as Senior Lobbyist of ComEd | 7 |
| Legislative Strategies, is responsible for lobbying, | 8 |
| identifying, researching, reviewing and developing ComEd's | 9 |
| policy position on legislation and legislative constituency | 10 |
| issues, for coordinating activities internally and externally | 11 |
| relating to ComEd's legislative strategies and initiatives, | 12 |
| for cultivating relationships among government officials, | 13 |
| lobbyists, community organizations, and employees to promote | 14 |
| ComEd's interest; and
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Jones is also responsible for coordinating | 16 |
| employee's donations to Exelon PAC and managing PAC donations, | 17 |
| ComEd's contract lobbying staff along with ComEd's Springfield | 18 |
| and Chicago support staff; and
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Jones started with ComEd in 1969 and held | 20 |
| numerous positions in the areas of Engineering, Construction, | 21 |
| Generation, Sales/Service, and Public Affairs, where he served | 22 |
| as the liaison for various elected officials, municipalities, |

| legislators, and community leaders; in addition, he has served | 2 |
| in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves for 17 years; and
| 3 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Jones' past and present community involvement | 4 |
| and memberships include the following: RWL Community Service | 5 |
| Center, Youth Empire Services (YES), Board of Directors and | 6 |
| past chairman for St. Francis Hospital, past chairman of school | 7 |
| district 152 foundation, VP of Riverdale Redevelopment | 8 |
| Corporation, Board of Managers for YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago | 9 |
| and foundation member, Chicago Public Schools Exemplary | 10 |
| Schools program, Junior Achievement of Chicago, Chicago & | 11 |
| Suburban Public Schools Youth Motivation program, past | 12 |
| chairman of the South Suburban YMCA; and
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Jones is the recipient of various awards | 14 |
| including the 1998 Village of Phoenix community service | 15 |
| recognition award, the 1998 South Suburban Award of Merit for | 16 |
| outstanding community service, the 1997 Lewis Latimer Award for | 17 |
| countless years of community service, the 1997 Youth Empire | 18 |
| Service community service award, the 1996 Village of Phoenix | 19 |
| Outstanding Corporate Representative, and the 1996 Patton | 20 |
| School Mentor of the Year; and | 21 |
| WHEREAS, In 1995 the board of directors for Patton School | 22 |
| voted to rename their library Harry W. Jones Jr. Library in | 23 |
| honor of Mr. Jones; in 1995 Mr. Jones received the |

| Washington/Nash Success award based on his professional | 2 |
| accomplishments, personal integrity, public image, and for | 3 |
| being a positive role model for America's youth and young men; | 4 |
| he has received various other awards including the 1995 | 5 |
| Education excellence award from Chicago State University, the | 6 |
| 1995 Educational talent search, the 1994 Public Relations | 7 |
| Person of the Year, and the 1992 Junior Achievement | 8 |
| Above-and-Beyond Award; and
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Harry Jones and his wife Yvonne are residents of | 10 |
| Country Club Hills, and they have one son, four daughters, one | 11 |
| granddaughter and five grandsons; therefore, be it
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 13 |
| NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 14 |
| congratulate Harry W. Jones Jr. on his retirement from ComEd | 15 |
| Legislative Strategies and wish him success and good health in | 16 |
| the future; and be it further
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 18 |
| presented to Harry W. Jones Jr. as a symbol of our esteem.
