HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor the Danville First Baptist High School Boys Basketball Team, the Knights, on winning the Illinois Association of Christian Schools State Basketball Championship; and

WHEREAS, The First Baptist roster consists of one senior, four juniors, two sophomores, and six freshmen; and

WHEREAS, The Knights beat East Moline in the final game 76-51 to secure the win; this was the first Illinois Association of Christian Schools title for the school; and

WHEREAS, After the game, the trip home was made memorable by icy and snowy weather conditions, making a three-hour drive into a more than seven-hour drive; and

WHEREAS, The Knights are led by Coaches Bill Garver and Justin Houston; and

WHEREAS, The members of the First Baptist Knights are Ken Lithgow, Matt Wells, Tim Foley, Jared Greer, Ryan O'Connell, David Ellermets, Sam Bunting, Daniel Wells, Brock Creed, Jeremy McPhillips, Tyler Shepherd, Joel Froman, and Tyler Foley; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Danville First Baptist High School Boys Basketball Team, the Knights, on winning the Illinois Association of Christian Schools State Basketball Championship and wish them continued good fortune in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Danville First Baptist High School Boys Basketball Team as a symbol of our respect.
