HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Rend Lake College Warriors Cheerleaders on winning the Hoosier Challenge at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, during the weekend of March 10-11, 2007; and

WHEREAS, The Warriors received first place in their division and earned the right to cheer before the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers basketball game; and

WHEREAS, The cheerleaders were named Grand Champions after earning the highest overall score at the Challenge; and

WHEREAS, The head coach is Bobbi Shadowens; the assistant coach is Brittnie Aimslie; and the President of Rend Lake College is Mark S. Kern; and

WHEREAS, Two of the cheerleaders were unable to attend the Hoosier Challenge due to injuries, Salina Wheatley and Crystal Snowden; and

WHEREAS, The members of the squad are sophomores Lindsay Peas, Lindsay Brown, Vanessa Newell, Randa Hayes, Jordan Schmutz, Casey Sherman, Brooke Jenkins, and Elizabeth Heape; and freshmen Tiffannie Morlan, Lauren Steffy, Mackenzie Thomas, Ami Bowlin, and Holly Atkins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Rend Lake College Warriors Cheerleaders on their impressive win and the opportunity to cheer before an NBA game; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Rend Lake College Warriors Cheerleaders as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
