1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Lou England,
4 RN, MS as she retires on June 1, 2007 as the Executive Director
5 of the Kane County Health Department; and

6     WHEREAS, Mary Lou England received her BSN from South East
7 Missouri State University and her Masters of Science in Human
8 Resource Development from National Louis University in
9 Evanston; and

10     WHEREAS, She began her career as Administrator of the
11 Greene County Health Department in Carrollton; she later served
12 as West Suburban Hospital Medical Center's Associate Director
13 of the Nursing Division and acting Vice President; she
14 subsequently accepted the position of Public Health Nurse
15 Consultant with the Illinois Department of Public Health in
16 Springfield; and

17     WHEREAS, She advanced to Regional Health Officer with the
18 Illinois Department of Public Health, West Chicago, in 1988;
19 she then became the Director of Nursing with the DuPage County
20 Health Department; she is currently the Executive Director of
21 the Kane County Health Department, where she works to advance
22 public health concerns; in addition, she is the member of

1 several professional organizations; and

2     WHEREAS, Mary Lou England served as President of the
3 Northern Illinois Public Health Consortium from its inception
4 in 2002 until 2007; and

5     WHEREAS, While serving as President of the Northern
6 Illinois Public Health Consortium, she has worked to increase
7 State funding for local public health services, successfully
8 developed a statewide funding approach for combating West Nile
9 Virus, and received a Centers for Disease Control designation
10 to review State emergency preparedness expenditure plans;
11 therefore, be it

12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 congratulate Mary Lou England on her retirement as Executive
15 Director of the Kane County Health Department and wish her
16 continued success in the future; and be it further

17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to Mary Lou England as a symbol of our respect.
