HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Keith
4 Page of Mahomet, who passed away on November 22, 2006; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born May 14, 1930, in Ripon, Wisconsin; his
6 parents were Kenneth C. and Frieda H. Rusch Page; he married
7 Mary Ellen Ward on Nov. 24, 1955, in Chicago; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Page graduated from Tolono High School; he
9 graduated from the University of Illinois in 1952 with a
10 Bachelor's degree in speech education and in 1955 with a
11 Master's degree in education; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during the
13 Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and was stationed in Japan; he was
14 a theater and speech teacher at Edison Junior High School from
15 1955 to 1969; Mr. Page taught English, theater, and radio-TV at
16 Champaign Centennial High School from 1969 to 1991 and helped
17 design the Centennial Auditorium Theater; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was the host of the "Marshall Magic Show" at
19 WCIA-TV and the host of the educational science show, "What's
20 New," at WILL-TV; he was a weatherman at WICD for 41 years; as
21 a film producer, he worked on the United Way documentary

1 "Abandoned"; he received the "Bronze Telly" award in 2005 for
2 his work on the documentary about the Grand Canyon, which aired
3 on WICD; Mr. Page was a magician for most of his life; and he
4 was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in
5 Mahomet; and
 
6     WHEREAS, Keith Page is survived by his loving wife, Mary
7 Ellen; his sons, Mark Allan Page, Ward C. Page, John William
8 Page, and Robert Kenneth Page; his daughter, Mary Ellen
9 Page-Dooley; his sisters, Charlene McQueen and Rita Lyn Frye;
10 his 11 grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren;
11 therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
13 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
14 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Keith
15 Page; and be it further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of Keith Page as a symbol of our
18 sympathy.
