HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Larry Wiers, Superintendent of Troy School District 30-C, on his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Larry Wiers began his educational career as a social studies teacher at Troy Junior High School from 1974 to 1979; he taught social studies again from 1982 to 1984, and again from 1985 to 1986; and

WHEREAS, Larry Wiers served as Assistant Principal of Troy Junior High School in the school years from 1979 to 1982, 1984 to 1985, and from 1986 to 1987; and

WHEREAS, He served the District as Director of Elementary Instruction from 1987 to 1989; and

WHEREAS, He served as the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction from 1989 to 2001; and

WHEREAS, Larry Wiers took on the role of Superintendent in July of 2001; he has made the decision, after 33 years of service and leadership to the students of Troy School District 30-C to retire; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Larry Wiers on his retirement and wish him a happy retirement and continued success in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Larry Wiers as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
