HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Teenage residents of the Township of Schaumburg represent an important but under-appreciated segment of the population; and

WHEREAS, The teen years comprise the transitional stages of human development from childhood to adulthood; and

WHEREAS, During these transitions, teenagers need and deserve their community's understanding, guidance, and support; and

WHEREAS, The creative energy and passion of adolescents often help to refresh our culture and constructively challenge our ideas, to the benefit of our society; and

WHEREAS, Negative publicity about teenagers often overshadow community awareness of teenagers overwhelming accomplishments and positive contributions to the life of our community and society; and

WHEREAS, August 12-18, 2007 is Teen Appreciation Week throughout the Township of Schaumburg; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Township of Schaumburg on recognizing their teen population for the good they bring to the communities in Schaumburg Township with the celebration of Teen Appreciation Week; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Schaumburg Township Supervisor.
