HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Davalion Rivkin of Chicago, who passed away on August 8, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Davalion Rivkin was born on September 13, 1973 in Chicago; his parents were Thomas Jr. and Charlene Rivkin; and

WHEREAS, Davalion Rivkin confessed his belief in God at an early age and attended the Apostolic Church of God, where he was baptized; and

WHEREAS, Davalion Rivkin was educated in the Chicago public schools; he was a passionate artist and poet who loved to entertain and joke with others; his favorite hobbies were cooking, cosmetology, singing, and rapping; and

WHEREAS, Davalion Rivkin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Yvonne Johnson; his grandfather, Leroy Johnson; his father, Thomas Jackson Jr.; his grandfather, Thomas Jackson Sr.; his uncles, Christopher Rivkin and Calvin Jackson; and his stepfather, Travis Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Davalion Rivkin is survived by his wife, Michelle Rivkin; his mother, Charlene; his grandmother, Theresa Jackson; his great-aunt, Anita Rivkin-Carothers; his daughter, Davine Rivkin; his stepchildren, Derrick and Rochelle Robinson; his siblings, Travis and Vickie Rivkin; and many aunts, uncles, family members, and friends; and

WHEREAS, Davalion Rivkin will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as a caring person and as a devoted father, son, brother, and friend; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Davalion Rivkin; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Davalion Rivkin as an expression of our sympathy.
