1 HOUSE RESOLUTION

2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the members of the Theta
4 Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation, on the occasion of the 18th
5 annual Black & Gold Ball, November 17, 2007; and

6     WHEREAS, Theta Mu Lambda is a not-for-profit entity of
7 Theta Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity
8 Incorporated; and

9     WHEREAS, Alpha Phi Alpha is dedicated to future leaders and
10 works to increase scholarship initiatives, expand existing
11 programs, and address the needs of the youth of the many
12 communities represented by Alpha Phi Alpha members; and

13     WHEREAS, The community service programs provided by Alpha
14 Phi Alpha include the administration of legislative
15 scholarships for State Representatives George Scully, David
16 Miller, and Albert Riley; scholarship awards funded by the
17 Theta Mu Lambda Charitable Foundation; the "Leaders of
18 Tomorrow" mentorship program; and the Project Alpha leadership
19 training program; therefore, be it

20     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1 congratulate the members of the Theta Mu Lambda Charitable
2 Foundation on the occasion of the 18th annual Black & Gold
3 Ball, November 17, 2007; and be it further

4     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to Arthur Byrd, Jr., Chairman, Theta Mu Lambda
6 Charitable Foundation, as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
