HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Paul P. Anderson on the occasion of his retirement as Kendall County Clerk and Recorder on November 9, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson has had a long and distinguished career in public service; he served as a trustee for the Village of Oswego from 1985 until 1988; he was a member of the Kendall County Board in District 2; and he served as Public Building Commission Treasurer from 1988 to 2005; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson was elected as Kendall County Clerk and Recorder in the general election of November 6, 1990; he took office on December 3, 1990; as Clerk and Recorder, he supported and lobbied for the technological updates necessary to the handling of records and processes related to land management records, elections, voter registration, and property taxes; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson has been actively associated with numerous organizations, including the Illinois Association of County Clerks and Recorders, where he served as president, and the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials & Treasurers; and he is a life member of the Jaycees; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson served in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1967; he was a banker for 21 years, leaving his position as a vice president for Merchants Bank upon his election to the office of Clerk and Recorder in 1990; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson has been married to Jacqueline since 1966; he has 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson plans to enjoy his retirement traveling with his wife; and

WHEREAS, Paul Anderson has a sterling reputation as a conscientious and knowledgeable public official who has conducted himself with diplomacy and humility while in office; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Paul P. Anderson on the occasion of his retirement as Kendall County Clerk and Recorder and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Paul P. Anderson as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
