HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Marion High School Lady Wildcats girls golf team on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class AA State Runner-Up Girls Golf 2007 title; and

WHEREAS, The Lady Wildcats team's hard-fought 2nd place finish was achieved through the intense effort of its players, such as sophomore Cassie Rushing, who earned an individual medal with a 149 total, a number that tied for the 8th-best score in the field, and Haley Sipe, who put together a 152 total that tied for 13th place in the tournament; the other players turned in respectable performances as well, with Campbell Hunt finishing with a 161 total, Ashleigh Rushing finishing with a 162 total, Lauren Bond finishing with a 164 total, and Darcy White, who carded an 89 total in her round after player Melissa Sharpe played to a 95 total; and

WHEREAS, The Marion High School Lady Wildcats are Darcy White, Cassie Rushing, Lauren Bond, Haley Sipe, Campbell Hunt, Melissa Sharpe, and Ashleigh Rushing; the Lady Wildcats coach is Mary Thomason; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Marion High School Lady Wildcats girls golf team on the occasion of winning the IHSA Class AA State Runner-Up Girls Golf 2007 title and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lady Wildcats coach Mary Thomason as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
