HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, David Marshall has served as the Minister of Education at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Zion for over 20 years; and

WHEREAS, He has worked with five different pastors during his tenure; when he began his office was located in a hallway, but today he has a real office; and

WHEREAS, His job description was "to serve as director of the educational program of the church"; over the years David Marshall has preached, taught, led singing, played both the organ and piano, filled the baptistery, cleaned out garages and storage rooms, directed the choir, and worked at many other tasks beyond his original job description; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his duties as Minister of Education he also teaches math at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Decatur; he and his wife, Vickie, have three children, Ryan, Jeff, and Kristin; and

WHEREAS, January 7, 2007 was set aside as a special day to honor David Marshall for his dedication to his church; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate David Marshall on his twenty year anniversary as Minister of Education at First Baptist Church in Mt. Zion; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to David Marshall as a symbol of our respect.
