HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Dr. John Kaeser on his many years of service in the dental field; and

WHEREAS, Dr. John Kaeser had to make a difficult choice when he went to college; he attended school on a baseball scholarship, but majored in pre-dental studies; he chose to enter the dental profession, earning his D.D.S. degree in 1956; and

WHEREAS, After serving two years in the United States Air Force, Dr. Kaeser returned to Marion and established his practice; and

WHEREAS, While dentistry became his vocation, baseball remained his avocation; for 35 years Dr. Kaeser served as an umpire in Colt and Pony league games; when not officiating at baseball games, Dr. Kaeser has served as the President of Community Savings Bank and as a member of the Marion Cultural & Civic Center Trustees; and

WHEREAS, John Kaeser was born on May 14, 1932 in Marion; he attended school in Marion, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and the University of Illinois-Chicago; he began practicing dentistry in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and then established his own practice in Marion from 1958 to 2000; he has served as Clinical Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at John A. Logan College since 2000; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dr. John Kaeser on his long career in the dental field and thank him for his many years of service to the Marion community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. John Kaeser as a symbol of our respect.
