HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Lieutenant Joseph Duffy on the occasion of his retirement from the Roberts Park Fire Protection District on January 3, 2008 after 33 years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Joseph Duffy has served his community with bravery and distinction as a firefighter and paramedic for 33 years, with 31 years as a full-time member; he was among the first full time members of the Roberts Park Fire Protection District and was one of the first paramedics in the Roberts Park area; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Joseph Duffy was the recipient of many awards in recognition of his exemplary service, rescues, and fire prevention efforts; and

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Joseph Duffy's dedication to his profession and willingness to serve his community makes him a model for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Lieutenant Joseph Duffy on the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Lieutenant Joseph Duffy as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
