1     AN ACT concerning local government.

2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4     Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding
5 Section 10-2.1-31 as follows:

6     (65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-31 new)
7     Sec. 10-2.1-31. Emergency medical technician licensure.
8 The corporate authorities of any municipality may require that
9 all firefighters hired by the municipality on or after the
10 effective date of this amendatory Act of the 95th General
11 Assembly be licensed as an EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P under the
12 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Systems Act.
