SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Carmen Josephine Macias of Wood River, who passed away on March 10, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Carmen Macias was born on February 28, 1921, the daughter of Stephen and Thomas Savala; she married Andrew Martinez Macias on November 28, 1938, and he passed away on February 14, 1983; and

WHEREAS, Carmen Macias was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard's Church; she was an avid bingo player with many, many bingo friends and she loved them all; and

WHEREAS, In addition to her husband, Carmen Macias was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steve Macias; her sister, Mary Aleman; and her brothers, Joseph "Joe" and Salvadore "Savey" Savala; and

WHEREAS, Carmen Macias is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Andy and Therese Macias and Tom and Michelle Macias; her grandchildren and spouses, Carol and Steve Schroeder, Brenda and Brian Allen, Kevin and Jenny Macias, Stephanie Hemann, Stacie and Marvin Richter, Jimmy Macias, and Eric Macias; her great-grandchildren; and her brother, Robert "Bob" Savala; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Carmen Josephine Macias; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Carmen Macias as a symbol of our sympathy.
