SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William F. Bailey of McLean, who passed away on May 19, 2007; and

WHEREAS, William F. Bailey was born on August 17, 1945 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska; his parents were William L. and Gertrude E. Ptacek Bailey; he married Barbara Hershe on March 13, 1971 in Lexington; and

WHEREAS, William F. Bailey graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in Chicago; he was a former police officer and chief of police with the Village of McLean, Hayworth, and Farmington; he retired from the McLean County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff after 20 years of service; he was serving as the mayor of the Village of McLean at the time of his death; and

WHEREAS, William F. Bailey was preceded in death by his parents, William L. and Gertrude E. Ptacek Bailey; and

WHEREAS, William F. Bailey is survived by his wife of 36 years, Barbara; his sons, Brian K. Bailey and Scott (Amy) Bailey; his siblings, Diane Glave, Susan M. Ross, Judy E. Zimmer, James T., and Steven J. Bailey; and his three grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of William F. Bailey; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William F. Bailey as an expression of our sympathy.
