SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 hear of the death of William Luebbers of Caseyville, who passed
4 away on August 29, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, William Luebbers was born on May 8, 1924, in East
6 St. Louis; his parents were Ben and Francis Mae, nee White,
7 Luebbers; he married Shirley, nee Billner, Luebbers on October
8 16, 1948; and
 
9     WHEREAS, William Luebbers retired as a switchman and yard
10 master from Illinois Central Railroad; he served in the United
11 States Army during the Second World War and was a "Flying
12 Tiger"; he was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church; he had
13 been a past member of the Caseyville Fire Department; and he
14 was a past Post Commander and member of Caseyville VFW Post
15 1117; and
 
16     WHEREAS, William Luebbers served as mayor of the Village of
17 Caseyville for 4 years and as a village trustee for 17 years;
18 and
 
19     WHEREAS, William Luebbers was preceded in death by his
20 wife, Shirley, and his parents, Ben and Francis Mae; and

1     WHEREAS, William Luebbers is survived by his daughter, Kay
2 (Greg) Smith; his son, Kent Luebbers; his brothers, James
3 Luebbers and Ben Luebbers Jr.; his sister, Doris Lonski; his
4 special cousin, Royd Benyr; and his grandchildren, Joshua and
5 Onaliesa Luebbers and Alexis Smith; therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
8 his family and friends, the passing of William Luebbers; and be
9 it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to the family of William Luebbers as an expression of
12 our sympathy.
