SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert P. Will Jr. of Waukegan, who passed away on November 20, 2007; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Will Jr. was born April 6, 1938, in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Robert Will served with the Army Reserves; he began his practice of law in 1962, opened his first law office in 1963, and had continued practicing law for 45 years, including 15 years with his partner-in-crime, Tom Briscoe; he served as chief public defender of Lake County for approximately 10 years; and

WHEREAS, He was an active member of the Republican Party, both nationally and in Lake County; he was also a lifetime Green Bay Packers fan, a Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and was a charter member of the Packer Hall of Fame in Green Bay; he was also a member of Waukegan Lodge #78 A.F. & A.M. and Zion-Benton Moose Lodge #667; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Will Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Robert P. Will Sr.; and one brother, Frederick Scott Will; and

WHEREAS, Robert P. Will Jr. is survived by his children, Rena, Ryan Bart (Traci), Rhonda, and Robin; his grandchildren, Christian, Tyler, and Riley; his mother, Rena; his longtime companion, Jan; and the mother of his children, Dolores; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Robert P. Will Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert P. Will Jr. as a symbol of our sympathy.
