SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Marla Arcadia "Kayta" Pena of Waukegan, who passed away on December 16, 2007; and

WHEREAS, She was born on October 20, 1949 in Mexico and came to Waukegan in 1964; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Holy Family Church in Waukegan; she was a founding and active member of Famonal and a member of Club Nuevo Laeon; and

WHEREAS, She worked for Waukegan School District 60 for fourteen years as a bi-lingual secretary; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father, Gilberto Hinojosa; and her brother, Fernando Hinojosa; and

WHEREAS, Marla Arcadia Pena is survived by her husband of 36 years, Mario; her mother, Delfina Hinojosa; her children, Felix (Kirsti) Pena, Cesar Pena, Hugo Pena, and Daniel (Mayra) Pena; her grandchildren, Adam, Lexi, and Lorena Del Carmen Pena; her sisters, Blanco (Federico) Salinas, Doris (Reynaldo) Najarro, Delfina (Chata) Lopez, and Olivia (Rafael) Lopez; her brothers, Gilberto (Candelaria) Hinojosa and Arturo (Betty) Hinojosa; and her many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Marla Arcadia "Kayta" Pena; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Marla Arcadia "Kayta" Pena as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
