SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Helene J. Hernandez of Alton, who passed away on January 13, 2008; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 30, 1944, in San Antonio, the daughter of Joseph and Eileen (Sanchez) Krause; she married James Hernandez on April 6, 1966, in Aurora, Colorado; and

WHEREAS, She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; she worked in the family business of Hernandez Construction Company; and

WHEREAS, She loved being a grandmother and was very dedicated to her family; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Charlene Sullivan; and

WHEREAS, Helene Hernandez is survived by her husband, James; her son and daughter-in-law, T.J. and Allison Hernandez; her granddaughter, Abbie Hernandez; her three brothers, Charles Krause, William Krause, and Michael Krause; and her very good friend who was like her sister, Barbara Carroll; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Helene J. Hernandez; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helene J. Hernandez as a symbol of our sympathy.
