SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Arnette Harmon Moseberry of Chicago, who
4 passed away December 22, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born June 27, 1927, in Holly Springs,
6 Mississippi to the late Louis Harmon Sr. and Mary James Harmon;
7 at an early age she began attending Ebenezer Baptist Church,
8 where she accepted Jesus Christ into her life; as an adult she
9 worshipped at Greater Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church;
10 she converted to Catholicism and became a member of St.
11 Laurence Catholic Church and the Women of St. Laurence until
12 its closure; she then attended St. Ailbe Catholic Church; and
 
13     WHEREAS, She was educated at Forrestville Elementary
14 School and DuSable High School; on February 25, 1947 she was
15 united in marriage to William Moseberry Jr.; and
 
16     WHEREAS, She was a loyal employee of Oscar Mayer for twenty
17 years; after her retirement she worked for Eyes Around the
18 World Travel Agency, and traveled around the world; she was an
19 avid golfer; she was a member of the WASS Auxiliary (an
20 affiliate of the Chicago Boys Club), the Midwest Golf
21 Association, and the Chicago Women's Golf Club, where she
22 served as junior tournament director for the Bob-O-Links; in

1 addition, she taught children and teens the sport of golf; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Arnette Harmon Moseberry was preceded in death by
3 her parents, her husband, her daughter, Pamela, and six
4 siblings; and
 
5     WHEREAS, The passing of Arnette Harmon Moseberry will be
6 deeply felt by her son, Melvin; her daughters, Jacqueline,
7 Nola, Charmaine, Doris, and Valerie; her brother, Ervin; her
8 sisters, Villire, Yvonne, and Patsy (Calvin); her seventeen
9 grandchildren; her twenty great-grandchildren; her three
10 great-great-grandchildren; her life-long friends, Corrine and
11 Johnetta; and many other relatives and friends; therefore, be
12 it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15 her family and friends, the passing of Arnette Harmon
16 Moseberry; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of Arnette Harmon Moseberry as a symbol
19 of our sympathy.
