SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of David A. Lewis of Alton, who passed away on February 2, 2007; and

WHEREAS, David Lewis was born August 8, 1946, in Alton; his parents were William D. Lewis and Mary (Springgate) Lewis-Daughhette; he was married to Valerie (Goeken) Lewis on March 19, 1976; and

WHEREAS, David Lewis was employed at Illinois Power Company in East Alton for 26 years and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church; he was a member for more than 15 years and past president of the Marquette Catholic High School Booster Club and was also involved in Catholic Charities; and

WHEREAS, He was very involved in the Alton community and loved to spend time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tammy Greco; and

WHEREAS, David Lewis is survived by his wife; his children and their spouses, Sarah and Mark Peipert, Kerry and Brad Jun, Matt and Debbie Lewis, Chad and Beth Lewis, Tony and Lynn Lewis, Brad Lewis, and Christina and Greg Strow; his grandchildren, Nick and Heather McKaig, Taylor Greco, Adam, Emily, and Abby Peipert, Thomas, Alex, Luke, and Daniel Jun, Ricky, Josie, Ryan, David, Kyle, Corey, Kelsea, Will, Ben, Joshua, and Jessica Lewis, and Danna and Kristen Strow; his great-grandson, Ashton Gleason; his son-in-law, Jim Greco; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Elsa Lewis and John and Cindy Lewis; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of David A. Lewis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David Lewis as a symbol of our sympathy.
