SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond "Pete" Krause Sr. of North Chicago, who passed away on March 5, 2008; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Krause Sr. was born on December 25, 1930 in North Chicago and lived there his entire life; and

WHEREAS, He officially retired from Fansteel in 1995 but held a variety of "busy" jobs until 2004; he was a lifetime member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; and

WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army as a Field Clerk with the 2nd Light Armor Division from 1951-1953 and received the Korean Service Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Krause was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, in 1996; his parents, William J. and Louise Krause; many brothers and sisters; and one great-granddaughter; and

WHEREAS, Raymond Krause is survived by his daughter, Linda (Ron) Hoover; his sons, Ray Jr. (Denise), Steven (Maureen Baker), and Thomas (Gina Miller); several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews; he is also survived by his sister, June (Roger) Jorgesen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Raymond "Pete" Krause Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Raymond "Pete" Krause Sr. as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
