SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Leon Taylor of Chicago, who passed away
4 on March 30, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Leon Taylor was born on February 13, 1956 in
6 Chicago; his parents were Dezel and Odessie Taylor; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Leon Taylor was educated in the Chicago Public
8 School System, where he attended Sheppard Elementary and
9 Harrison High School; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Leon Taylor was first employed at the age of 10,
11 when he trained to be a butcher at 1228 South Kedzie in
12 Chicago; he worked as a butcher for many years; he worked at
13 Market Fisherman at 7129 South State Street at the time of his
14 unfortunate passing; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Leon Taylor was preceded in death by his parents;
16 his brother, Samuel Johnson; and his sister, Martha Taylor; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Leon Taylor is survived by his sisters, Cherry
18 Spann (Roger) and Marie Wade (James); his brothers, Dezel
19 Taylor (Maria), John Taylor, Allen Taylor (Sonya), and Dwayne
20 Johnson; his stepdaughter, Candy Lawson, and her mother,

1 Cynthia Lawson (Peanut); his eight nieces and eight nephews;
2 his three great-nieces and one great-nephew; and his many
3 cousins, relatives, and friends; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Leon Taylor will be remembered by all who knew and
5 loved him as a loving and giving person who loved his family
6 dearly and was always the life of the party; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Leon Taylor; and be it
10 further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Leon Taylor as an expression of our
13 sympathy.
