SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Creates the COVID-19 Workplace Vaccination Program Limitation Act.
Provides that it is unlawful for an employer in the State of Illinois to
create, implement, or otherwise enforce a workplace vaccination program
that requires any employee to demonstrate to the employer that he or she
has received a vaccine that was approved under emergency use authorization
by the United States Food and Drug Administration. Provides for repeal of
the Act on January 1, 2023. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning employment.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
This Act may be cited as the
COVID-19 Workplace Vaccination Program Limitation Act.
It is the purpose of this Act to allow
individuals to have the autonomy to make the decision of
whether or not to receive a vaccination that was approved by
the United States Food and Drug Administration to be used
under emergency use authorization for treatment of COVID-19.
The fact that the vaccines made available amid the global
pandemic have been granted emergency use authorization means
that both regulatory bodies and industry experts have not been
allotted sufficient time to study either the short-term and
long-term effects that may arise from the administration of
vaccinations authorized for emergency use. Therefore, the
State is compelled to prohibit employers from requiring that
employees receive a vaccine that has been approved under
emergency use authorization as a condition of employment.
