Amends the Surface-Mined Land Conservation and Reclamation Act. Provides that the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation shall conduct inspections of the operation of a surface mining facility on a quarterly basis or 4 times per year.

AN ACT concerning regulation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Surface-Mined Land Conservation and Reclamation Act is amended by changing Section 7 as follows:

Sec. 7. Entry upon lands for inspection.

The Department, or its accredited representatives, may enter upon the lands of the operator at all reasonable times for the purpose of inspection, to determine whether the provisions of this Act have been complied with. The Department shall conduct inspections of the operation on a quarterly basis or 4 times per year.
