SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Rolland Dean West of East Moline, who passed away on May 23, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Rolland West was born to Edward and Gladys (Huskey) West in East Peoria on February 26, 1937; he joined the U.S. Army in 1960; he married Patsy Ann Jones at The Whole Truth Tabernacle Church in Silvis on July 9, 1966; and

WHEREAS, Rolland West was employed as a lay out inspector at John Deere Plow and Planter in Moline; he retired in 1991, after 30 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Rolland West was a member of The Sanctuary Quad Cities in Silvis; he enjoyed woodworking and constructed furniture, doll furniture, cradles, and rocking horses; he also worked on cars and did mechanical work for the buses at church; and

WHEREAS, Rolland West was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Gerald West; and

WHEREAS, Rolland West is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy West; his sons, Troy (Rachelle) West and Todd (Twila) West; his grandchildren, Payton, Haley, Brooke, Spencer, and Kyah; his great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emerson; his eight nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Rolland Dean West and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rolland West as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
