SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Anthony Penca of Silvis, who passed away on July 18, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Penca was born to Anthony and Theresa (Perkovic) Penca in Silvis on June 10, 1927; he served his country in the U.S. Army from April 22, 1946 to May 8, 1950; he was squad leader of Military Police 677 in Japan and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan; he married Bernadette Tragarz in Moline on October 10, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Penca worked as a superintendent of maintenance at International Harvester; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Penca was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Penca was preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother, Joseph Penca; and his sister-in-law, Ursula Penca; and

WHEREAS, Anthony Penca is survived by his wife; his children, Pamela (Mark) Schwigen, Tony (Kari) Penca, Paula Penca, and Matt (Trish) Penca; his grandchildren, Christopher (Hanalei Darbar) Schwigen, Patrick (Chelley) Schwigen, Haleigh Penca, Jordan Penca, and Jonah Penca; and his great-grandchildren, Olic Schwigen and Arlo Schwigen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Anthony Penca and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Anthony Penca as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
