SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Raymond "Dave" Rankin of Rock Island, formally of Geneseo, who passed away on August 1, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Dave Rankin was born in Macomb on August 25, 1943; he was the son of Dale and Helen (Hamm) Rankin; he served in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed in Turkey; he married Mary Setser in 1967, and they had two daughters; he married Sandra Jones in 1977; and

WHEREAS, Dave Rankin worked at Henderson Ford Sales in Aledo for many years; his final place of employment was Kraft Foods, from which he retired in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Dave Rankin was passionate about cars, including buying, selling, driving, talking about, and showing them; he owned several Mustangs throughout his life and spent many weekends at car shows; and

WHEREAS, Dave Rankin was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Tamala; his brother, Richard (Marsha) Rankin; and his sister, Jane Kuehn; and

WHEREAS, Dave Rankin is survived by his wife, Sandra; his daughters, Melissa Hayward and Angela (Chris) Beckner; his stepchildren, Theresa (Gale) Jones and Christopher (Tamela) Jones; his sister, Sherry Chaney; his six grandchildren; and his three great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Raymond "Dave" Rankin and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dave Rankin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
