SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Katherine L. "Katie" King of West Peoria, who passed away on May 4, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Katie King was born in Peoria to William E. and Diane Rinne King Sr. on January 24, 1996; and

WHEREAS, Katie King truly enjoyed teaching as a career because she wanted to make a difference in the lives she touched; her passion for teaching was evident in her love and caring for her students; and

WHEREAS, Katie King was a bright light that shone in the lives of her beloved students, family, and friends; she had an endless positive attitude and sweet personality; and

WHEREAS, Katie King was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents; and

WHEREAS, Katie King is survived by her brother, William King Jr.; her half brother, Matthew (Carrie) King; her half sister, Jennifer (Daryl) Selock; her nephews, Emery King, Elliot King, Owen Selock, and Nolan Selock; her uncle, Ed (Debra) Rinne; and her cousin, Christopher Rinne; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Katherine L. "Katie" King and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Katie King as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
