SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Paul Joseph Schmidt M.D. of Peoria,
4who passed away on July 4, 2021; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Schmidt was born to Herbert L. and Marie E.
6(McCadden) Schmidt in Evergreen Park on September 9, 1952; he
7finished medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago in
81982; after his internal medicine residency and cardiology
9fellowship, he moved to Peoria; in 1987, he began his
10cardiology practice, which, throughout the years, expanded to
11serve patients within central Illinois; he dedicated his life
12to medicine and taking care of his patients; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. Schmidt was prepared for any adventure; he
14was an accomplished outdoorsman who enjoyed everything,
15including mountain climbing, backpacking, and running
16marathons; when he wasn't physically partaking in nature, he
17was capturing it with his camera; most of all, he loved to see
18the world with his wife; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Dr. Schmidt is survived by his wife, Georgia
20(Fox) Schmidt; his son, Daniel Schmidt; his stepchildren,
21Jessica, Jeffrey, James, and Brenna; his eight grandchildren;
22his sister, Lynn Schmidt-Camomile; his brother, Glen (Susan)

1Schmidt; his nieces, Kelli Schmidt and Nicole Camomile; his
2nephew, Michael Schmidt; his aunt, Lillian McCadden; and his
3former wife, Corinne; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Paul Joseph Schmidt M.D. and extend our sincere condolences to
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Dr. Paul Schmidt as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
