SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Lawrence A. Juracic, who passed away
4on November 7, 2020 at the age of 92; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was born on February 25, 1928;
6he was raised near Wrigley Field in the Lakeview neighborhood
7of Chicago but had the courage to become a devoted White Sox
8fan; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic attended St. Patrick High School
10and graduated from St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota,
11where he played college football; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic served in the United States Army
13during the Korean War; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic witnessed history during the
151963 NFL Championship when the Chicago Bears beat the New York
16Giants; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic built a successful sales career
18in the meatpacking industry; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was proud of his Croatian and

1Polish heritage; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was married to Eunice A.
3(Nickel) Juracic for 49 years; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was a 60 year member of St.
5Bernardine Church and never skipped Sunday Mass; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lawrence Juracic was preceded in death by his
7wife; and
 
8    WHEREAS, At the time of his death, Lawrence Juracic was
9survived by his children, Marianne (Steven) Carlson, Eileen
10Carraher, Carol (Joseph) Segobiano, and David L. Juracic; his
11grandchildren, Lauren, Alison, Megan, Katie, Lucas, Isabel,
12Ryan, and Emma; his sister, Elaine (Tom) Stockwell; and his
13nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Lawrence A. Juracic and extend our sincere condolences to his
17family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Lawrence Juracic as an expression
