SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lillie Berger Hunter, who passed away on June 2, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Berger Hunter was born to Deree and Horace Berger in New Edinburg, Arkansas on December 20, 1954; she attended DuSable High School in Chicago; she then attended DePaul University; she married Elbert T. Hunter on October 14, 1979; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Berger Hunter was employed by BMO Harris Bank for 40 years, where she held numerous positions before eventually obtaining the status of vice president; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Berger Hunter was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ahmad Hunter; and her brothers, Jerry Berger and Luther Ray Mosley; and

WHEREAS, Lillie Berger Hunter is survived by her husband, Elbert; her son, Akeem Hunter; her brothers, Glenn Berger, Joseph Berger, and James Berger; her sister, Vernance Helms; her sisters-in-law, Delma Hunter and Alicia Renee Berger; her brother-in-law, Euclid Hunter; her granddaughter, Ariel Hunter; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lillie Berger Hunter and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lillie Berger Hunter as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
