705 ILCS 405/6-3   from Ch. 37, par. 806-3

    Amends the Juvenile Court Act of 1987. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the establishment of Court Services Departments.

1     AN ACT concerning courts.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended by
5 changing Section 6-3 as follows:
 
6     (705 ILCS 405/6-3)  (from Ch. 37, par. 806-3)
7     Sec. 6-3. Court Services Departments; counties over
8 1,000,000. (1) Any county having more than 1,000,000
9 inhabitants shall maintain a Court Services Department, which
10 shall be under the the authority and supervision of the chief
11 judge of the circuit or of some other judge designated by him.
12     (2) The functions and duties of probation personnel of the
13 Court Services Department include, but are not limited to,
14 those described in Section 6-1. Neither the Court Services
15 Department nor any of its personnel must supervise the
16 probation of any person over 18 years of age convicted under
17 the criminal laws, except that the court may order the
18 Department to supervise the probation of an adult convicted of
19 the crime of contributing to the dependency and neglect of
20 children or of contributing to the delinquency of children.
21     (3) The Court Services Department in any such county shall
22 provide psychiatric clinical services relating to the purposes
23 of this Act when so requested, authorized or ordered by the

1 court. The Department may be required by the circuit court to
2 render psychiatric clinical services to the court in other
3 matters as well as in proceedings under this Act.
