SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
25 ILCS 120/3.1 new

    Amends the Compensation Review Act. Requires each member of the General Assembly to forfeit 12 days of compensation in FY10. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Compensation Review Act is amended by adding
5 Section 3.1 as follows:
 
6     (25 ILCS 120/3.1 new)
7     Sec. 3.1. FY10 furlough days. During the fiscal year
8 beginning on July 1, 2009, every member of the General Assembly
9 is mandatorily required to forfeit 12 days of compensation. The
10 State Comptroller shall deduct the equivalent of 1/261 of the
11 annual salary of each member from the compensation of that
12 member in each of the 12 months of the fiscal year.
 
13     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14 becoming law.
