SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
615 ILCS 5/29b new

    Amends the Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act. Provides that the Vermilion River, from its confluence with the Illinois River upstream to the bridge at 18th Street in LaSalle County, is declared a navigable stream, shall be deemed and held a public right-of-way, and shall remain free, open, and unobstructed, and all laws prohibiting the obstruction of navigable streams shall be deemed applicable to the Vermilion River between the points identified.

1     AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Rivers, Lakes, and Streams Act is amended by
5 adding Section 29b as follows:
 
6     (615 ILCS 5/29b new)
7     Sec. 29b. Vermilion River navigable. The Vermilion River,
8 from its confluence with the Illinois River upstream to the
9 bridge at 18th Street in LaSalle County, is hereby declared a
10 navigable stream, shall be deemed and held a public
11 right-of-way, and shall remain free, open, and unobstructed,
12 and all laws prohibiting the obstruction of navigable streams
13 shall be deemed applicable to the Vermilion River between the
14 points identified in this Section.
