SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new

Amends the School Code. Prohibits the Chicago Board of Education from establishing or operating a contract school. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 34-18.37 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/34-18.37 new)

Sec. 34-18.37. Contract schools prohibited. Beginning with contracts entered into or renewed on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly, the board is prohibited from establishing or operating a contract school.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
