HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Max Olson on his retirement from the Piatt County Board; and

WHEREAS, Max Olson was elected to the Piatt County Board in 1996; he has served as Vice Chairman of the County Board and has served as the Chairman since January 26, 2004; and

WHEREAS, He was appointed to the Public Building Commission in August of 2002, and served as the Chairman of the Commissioners until the end of his term in September of 2006; and

WHEREAS, He has been instrumental in making important decisions concerning the construction of the Public Safety Building and the new Assisted Living Facility that will open soon; and

WHEREAS, He is a retired farmer and he lives in Monticello; he has been married to his wife Marilyn for over fifty years and they have five grown children together, Bill, Eric, Becky, Debbie, and Julie; and

WHEREAS, His leadership has been greatly appreciated; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Max Olson on his retirement and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Max Olson as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
