HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to thank Seymour Lisnek for his service in the United States Army during World War II and congratulate him for being chosen to participate in an Honor Flight Chicago trip; and

WHEREAS, Honor Flight Chicago brings World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., to allow the veterans to view the World War II Memorial; United States military officials will greet and pay tribute to these veterans upon their arrival in Washington, D.C., and the Marine Corps Band will play for the veterans upon their return to the Chicago Midway International Airport; and

WHEREAS, Seymour Lisnek served his country with great pride and distinction as a member in the United States Army in the European theatre during World War II, having achieved the rank of sergeant by the war's end; during the war, he was stationed in London and in Germany, where he single-handedly confronted a truck of German soldiers, who subsequently surrendered to him; and

WHEREAS, Seymour Lisnek serves as a model of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we thank Seymour Lisnek for his service to our nation during World War II, congratulate him for being chosen to participate in an Honor Flight Chicago trip, and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Seymour Lisnek as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
