| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor Dr. Anthony J. (Tony) | 4 |
| Cuvo, Ph.D., of Carbondale, for his outstanding work on behalf | 5 |
| of individuals with developmental disabilities; and
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Cuvo is a former Distinguished Research Fellow | 7 |
| of the National Institute of Handicapped Research, a Fellow of | 8 |
| the American Psychological Association, the American | 9 |
| Psychological Society, and the American Association of Mental | 10 |
| Retardation; and
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Cuvo was one of the founding partners of The | 12 |
| Autism Program (TAP); with 30 community agencies and university | 13 |
| partners located across the State, the TAP Service Network is | 14 |
| the largest statewide network of care in the nation for the | 15 |
| diagnosis, treatment, and support of children with ASD; and
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Cuvo, a Professor of Behavior Analysis and | 17 |
| Therapy at Southern Illinois University, has played a pivotal | 18 |
| role in the development of graduate training programs equipping | 19 |
| professionals for work as Board Certified Behavior Analysts; | 20 |
| and
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Cuvo has completed innovative policy work to |

| ensure that Board Certified Behavior Analysts are available to | 2 |
| provide services to children enrolled in Early Intervention; | 3 |
| and
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Cuvo has conducted and published research that | 5 |
| has made a significant impact on the treatment of individuals | 6 |
| with developmental disabilities; and
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Dr. Cuvo has been a steadfast advocate of, and has | 8 |
| made generous contributions of time to, children, families, and | 9 |
| students; therefore, be it
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | 11 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | 12 |
| congratulate Dr. Anthony J. Cuvo for his many contributions and | 13 |
| thank him for his time and generosity in his work with the | 14 |
| developmentally disabled community; and be it further
| 15 |
| RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | 16 |
| presented to Dr. Anthony J. Cuvo, to Southern Illinois | 17 |
| University in Carbondale, The Hope Institute for Children and | 18 |
| Families, and The Autism Program of Illinois.
